Default Rear brake backplates

Hello,as anyone fitted new back-plates to rear,what sort of a job is it? .. Thanks.

Most likely discs as they rot and the handbrake shoes fall off the retainers

Its a pain to change as everything else rots too !

Then after removing everything including the hub,the allen screws holding the back plate could be seized and either round off or snap.

Thanks for replies guys thought it would be a bugger..But had to take handbrake shoes off so no handbrake at the minute,😕..Test coming up so going to have to do it or scrap it.. Stupid design.

No i dont agree its a brilliant design as the handbrake shoes generally last the life of the car and the pads are much easier to do as no need to wind things back and levers getting stuck like normal cars also when right the handbrake is brilliant compared to handbrake calipers !

Yes but when the backplates are made of poor metal instead of something that won't rust away then the whole thing is doomed
