Default Panel instruments dead while driving then back on again

Peugeot 406 1999: For the last few days, the turn indicator lights have gone dead for a few minutes while driving and then started working again. Yesterday, all panel instruments went dead also while driving. Speedometer showed zero, odometer zero, temperature zero, etc. Panel lighting was on. After about 10 minutes of continued driving, all instruments came back to life again.

Any suggestion as to what may cause these intermittent failures?

Intermittent bad contact in wiring/connectors; either power supply or earth. Could even be in a fuse or fuseholder.

Have a look under the carpet on the rhs at the 2 main loom connectors found there for water/corrosion.

Thanks. I checked the two connectors under the carpet. They looked fine. I opened and closed them a few times to make sure the contacts are ok. There was also a small connector next to the two bigger ones. It was somewhat corroded. Cleaned it.

The indicator lights and the instruments have been ok lately, but now the windshield wipers don't work. Fuse is ok with correct voltage. Seems like there is an electric ghost in the system.
