Default Heater blower fan. How to remove impeller

Hello clever folks.

I have what seems a common problem with my 98 406 td. The heater fan has been intermittent for some time, but usually worked with a jiggle of wires/connector. Now it is dead. I have removed it and bought a new controller/resistor unit. my questions is, how do I remove either the impeller or the casing at the back of the motor, so that i can change the controller? There are no screws on the casing (I have removed the stickers too). It would appear it is either pressed or glued on at the valeo factory. is there a way to remove the centrifugal impeller without a small three legged puller which I don't have? Valeo part no. is C22828229X. Seems its the same as a range rover P38, where it is probably one of the most reliable electrical parts.
