Default 406 key fob, battery renewal?

Hi, I have an X reg 406 diesel. Am trying to change key fob battery, but old one was taken out before I saw which way it was fitted. The fob has no screw holding it together & has 2 buttons. There appears to be a recess, with one terminal a flat strip running across the diagonal. A second terminal has arms to accept 2016 battery. I am assuming that the new battery is fitted with positive uppermost so that the inner base connects to the diagonal terminal & the positive into the arms. However, this leaves it quite loose.
Anyone pls confirm which way is correct.

A little late maybe...

Here is a picture of my keyfob. The '+' (large side) is facing towards the viewer, the '-' (small side) faces downwards towards the printed circuit board.
