Default 2.0 HDI 110 Turbo "lag"

Hi Guys,

Sorry if this has been covered before, but i searched for a while and couldn't find a definite answer.

Turbo only starts to pull/make boost about 2100rpm instead of the normal 1750ish, making it a real pig to keep on power when towing.

I've tried cleaning the MAF and didn't help.

Worth noting that the car has no CAT/rear silencer and is running a cone airfilter.

I had to change the lower intercooler pipe recently after it exploded on me, being a bit ham fisted, could it be possible that the sensor on top of the intercooler is damaged and causing the lag?

Any idea's?

Unplug the MAF connector and see how things go.

unplugged the maf and took it for a drive, seems to drive much smoother but the turbo doesn't come in with as much as a kick as it used too.

I'll get a new maf and see how it goes.
