Default P1836

Hi. The code P1836 is intermittently thrown when driving my 4007 2.2 with DCS gearbox. Peugeot tells me that the code means 'fork 1 locking' although the gearbox always seems to be working fine with no abnormal noises. Can anyone tell me any other reason why this code may be thrown and/or anything to look at e.g a sensor or something which i may be able to clean or replace?
Regards, Michael

Welcome to the forum.

It sounds like a gearbox mechanical issue. It appears from Google to be quite common on some Mitsubishi vehicles (which your car is based on)

I rang Peugeot just to tell me what the code meant but have not had the car for diagnostics. Thought someone might know what might be causing this code to throw even after the car may drive 80kms through mountains, bends, 120km/h straight roads and then throw a code without warning, no abnormal noises or vibrations or anything. Quite frustrating
