Default Throttle issue?

I've noticed a slight issue with my 1.2 Active. While driving normal, the throttle seems fine, i can hold slight throttle, release it a little and everything seems fine. When pulling away from a junction if I have come to a complete stop for a few seconds, then it is also fine. The problem is when I have approached a junction or roundabout while braking, change down to 1st, and then try to apply some throttle...... theres like a 1-2 second delay before it revs and sometimes quickly upto 1500 or more. This can be quite dangerous as it wont move! I've noticed that at idle sometimes it wont control the revs properly so I can't hold at say 1200rpm. Even the slightest let up of the pedal will drop the revs totally back to 800
Anyone have any ideas?
