Default Stone Chips and other question

I've noticed it for some time (pretty much ever since I bought the car), however I was out waxing it today and thought I'd take a picture of the stone chips on my bonnet as to me they look pretty bad, though you can't see them that well in the picture.

I'm just wondering if it's "normal" to have so many? The paint seems pretty weak to them, and I guess with it being black they are more noticable.

I also noticed another thing, to the rear of my car and it seems this part near the wheel has come a bit loose. It looks like it's ment to 'clip in' and I had a go but it didn't work and I'm a bit wary of causing more damage to it.
Can anyone confirm how to sort it?

At least you won't get rust starting from them on the bonnet, it's made of aluminium.

Pity the same doesn't apply to the roof.

I have exactly the same with my black 308 (so like you), though mine are much smaller, they are dotted across the whole bonnet.

I am considering getting the badge removed, holes filled (allure model) and having the thing re sprayed.
