Default Steering wheel, in the middle?

Hi,

Uk driver with a Peugeot 308 2014. When I stuck in traffic today I noticed that the steering wheel does not look like its inline with the driver, like it's offset to the left. Anyone else noticed this?

Thanks

As I was curious I went out and checked using a plumb bob. I then added the lines on in a photo editor after. It is indeed offset.

I think it depends on how you sit. I looked at mine and thought it was offset to the right.

Your picture shows a line down through the centre of the steering wheel, and another line below slightly to the right, but no way to tell what that is lined up with. It could be anything.

it was were the middle of my seat was. although maybe the seat fabric isn't in the centre, it does look it. how do you the gap between the pedals in the 308. I've changed my foot to allow for pivoting.had to move it closer to brake as per photo two.

I actually measures it to check. It's definitely off to the left. I found I was positioning myself directly in front of it but always felt I was sitting on the left bolster more (which I was) shuffled over to right a bit more now. Check in your car when you next get chance.

I've noticed the same thing on my previous cars (not all of them were Peugeot) - it's offset on all of them, dunno why. I have LHD, and the steering wheel was always offset a bit to the left (towards the door). Noticed it on older 308, on Jeep Grand Cherokee and Wrangler, on Nissan Patrol GR and Jeep Cherokee, LR Discovery, Ford Escort and Mercedes E230. All my rides had the steering wheel slightly offset towards the door.

Not sure if they've changed something (seat position maybe) but i've just checked on my 2017 and it's bang in the middle thankfully

That would have driven me up the wall if it was offset!
