Ah, thanks. Been away for a few days. Just tried and it started the update. Bar went halfway and stopped. "Update failed".

Took the USB out, put it in again and it then worked properly.

Flakey software most likely.

June speedcam available. It downloads and unpacks all right but I can't check that it installs OK (I'm in hospital) so could someone check please?

I can't check on my car at the moment but if you look at GRUPPO_4_ROOT.DAT.inf in the DATA folder it says:

c1dfbd80
VER:417
TYPE:RELOCABLE
COMPRESSED:NO
SIZE:3964477
ENTRY:NO
CONTINENT_ID:1
CONTINENT_NAME:EUROPE

So it looks that way. Certainly, if you haven't updated since January this year (the update came out in February), then this will be new to you.

Thanks PaulMillard for all the hard work which allowed me to update my maps today. In my case I found the method a little different so maybe it has been updated? Are you aware of the change? I found that a DRM activation code was auto-generated as part of the map download procedure doing away with the need to run a Java generator to create a Maps Key. This difference only affects page 4 of your "Map Update Procedure SMEG+" link to apdf file but in every other way it worked fine.

You don't give the date (or specification - time to update your details perhaps?) of your car but in 2015 (after June I think) cars were gifted with three year's free updates. Perhaps your car is one of these?

Sorry about that. My car is a 308 Hatch 1.2 Puretech 'Allure' trim first registered in June 2017 and the following screenshot tells me that I get free map updates for 5 years (not 3)?

PS: - I do not know how to show my car details by default. I am quite new to this forum and I can't find where to edit "Car Details".

In 2017 the system was changed (concurrently with the facelift I think - can you confirm) and now mapping is supplied by TomTom. The system to download is the same though. The VIN sorts out what is made available for you.

FWIW this has absolutely no effect on the earlier cars (such as ours) that still need to use the code generator but thanks for asking.
