Smile Retro fit front seats with massage facility.

Hi Guys.

Looking for a bit of advice.
My 2014 308 T9 Mk11 1.6 HDI Allure is fitted with standard front seats, which due to a back problem I have, can become uncomfortable on a long drive.
I've been offered a pair of front seats from a identical 2016 model with electric massage facility via three buttons on the front righthand side.

Am I right in thinking if I replace the front seats in my car with the later ones, I would need to visit my local Peugeot garage and get them linked via my cars Vin number before the massage facility will work ? I don't have access to Diagbox or anything like it. Also, what would the garage likely charge for this set up work ?

Thanks for your help.

If the power connections are wired on the seat connectors they will most likely work with no issues or at the least a couple of fuses fitting. They do not need coding to the best of my knowledge and have not seen an option for heated seat in BSI settings only normally for memory seats

I wouldn't bother, I have the massage function as standard on my GT. I use the Shiatsu massage seat at home thats much better than the Peugeot...its nice on a long drive but not very effective tbh. Spend your money elsewhere.
I would suggest getting some Recaro seats and get an autotrimmer to help you fit them. Or get them to source much better money spent IMO as Recaro are the best which is why you will find them on aircraft seats...even Ryanair...

The 'massage' is literally just the lumbar support going in and out
It's more of a lower back poke every 5-10 seconds than anything else
My girlfriend has back pain, particularly lower back and even she says it does nothing for her
At least it is on my 2015 GT (heated leather seats)
I would try them out before going to the bother of replacing them as they mightn't do much to help
