Default Can you really upgrade for 404?

Firstly my added thanks to Vlud, Mark and Stock_Aitken_Waterman (on EBay) for their help in providing great information about this upgrade.

I purchased the NAC unit complete with the main harness adaptor, the aerial adaptor and the usb adaptor from S_A_W. He coded the NAC to my car's VIN and shipped everything to me in 4 days. Cost 334.95.

I ordered a new screen through AliExpress from China for 69.05 and that arrived in 9 days. Impressive.

Dismantling the screen and lower dashboard was daunting, but as long as one takes care it was pretty straightforward. Do remove the plastic panel below the steering wheel to give access to the RHS small slot at the top edge of the 'CD panel'. It's almost impossible to insert a flat bar tool into the slot to release the spring clip otherwise !

The results are great. Much faster screen response, much better maps plus all the benefits of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

It brings my 2015 model right up to date....and yes, all for 404

How will you keep the maps updated?

Hi Paul,

Having Google maps on Android Auto is a better solution for me than using the inbuilt satnav.

Is there an answer to the update question?

I don't know. I have no intention of changing to NAC but I was just curious. I also use my phone if it gets serious, the car satnav is just used as a glorified atlas!

To update the maps all you need is the VIN of the donar car. You can then use it on the Peugeot website to download new map releases and firmware updates.

Ah, that makes sense. Thank you for satisfying my curiosity.

And the benefit of that is that you get more free maps as the reg date is later.

Its another update I have on my list to do to my 308, ill plan it in when I have my summer break from work.

Can you also add the missing 2nd USB port in the drivers side cubby hole when you upgrade to the NAC unit?

Yes you can. You will need an additional USB adaptor cable.

If your car is like mine, you won't be able to use both USBs simultaneously. I find I don't miss the 2nd USB anyway....

Yeah you can and it works straight away. Cable cost 20 from Peugeot and clips in perfectly.

I much prefer it for the USB with music on as you can't see it.
