Default Rear parking sensors

In France at the moment, and had someone run into the back of the car. Luckily I was stopped at the time, and it was at very low speed, so there didn't appear to be any damage apart from a slight gouge in the rear bumper.

However, on checking the car again when I got 'home', I realised it must have dislodged one of the rear parking sensors as I managed to push it back into the bumper. It was the one on the nearside corner.

Does anyone know if it would be an easy job to try and refit it correctly?

I think they are similar on most models and they push in from the rear and are retained by two small lugs on the sensors, the lugs can get broken off and then they will not be retained in place and can fall back into the bumper.

Dependant on the exact sensor they can often be pushed in from the rear quite easily the inner ones are harder as the bumper reinforcement get in the way so it a bit of a struggle/squeeze.

Does the system work OK as when a similar thing happened on my DS one of the lugs broke and the sensor looked OK (other then the plastic lug) but the shock had damaged it internally

Still seems to work ok, even with it recessed into the bumper.

Did try and get my hand under the car and inside the bumper, but the exhaust was in the way
