Default Knocking sound from the steering

Hi guys,

For some time, I have a problem with my steering. It has some knocking sound when near the end of left or right steer. Please check out the video:

https://photos.app.goo.gl/LrZJe2dE86frtD8j7

I have been at the dealer and they claim that I need to replace inner and outer tie rod but they can not guarantee that it will fix the problem, and since the price is almost 400€, I refused. It seems that they would play guessing game with my money.

I went then at few other local garages and they claim that rods are not the issue, but the steering rack. I find it really strange that steering rack would go bad on car with 120.000km on the clock, but everything is possible.

Then I went to the MOT to check it out with them, and they think it's inner tie rod. They let me put my hand on it and I could feel something, but I am no mechanic to be sure that's it.

Also, in one of the local garage, they disconnected outer tie rod and they even let me try to move inner rod and I couldn't feel any play.

So, I'm puzzled. I also watched some YouTube videos and they all test inner tie rod with hand and with wheels above the ground, but nobody tries it when wheels are on the ground and with moving steering, so I'm not sure what to think.

Any idea here guys, do you also think my steering rack has issue or it could be something else?

Broken spring? Or maybe top mount bearings failed?

Well, that's also fine according to mechanics. I tried myself to put hand on the spring and someone else moving the steering wheel and I can't feel anything.

I tried on my and have the same situation. While I am driving there is no sound at all, but while parked it is. I have ony 57k km. When I was first time on inspection they said they think it is a problem with it, so I went to Peugeot servis and they claim it is ok. Now I dont know what to think...

You have the same sound as on my video? Is your car still under warranty?
