Default brake fluid

Thanks for the replies guys.
I was wondering if dot 4 esp is recommended.
I can't find any information and when I contacted a dealer they suggested I bring the car in for a check and they could supply the correct fluid.I'm 25miles
away.
Does anyone have a spec.no.
