Default Sensitive brakes

Are the brakes on a 308 meant to be so sensitive? The brake pedal barely has any travel, before it feels like I'm doing an emergency stop.

If you've got loads of meat on your pads, and the hydraulics are clear of air or water, then you'll feel like you could stop on a sixpence

This 308 is like nothing I've ever driven before.

Pads width should make no difference in pedal travel.

My girlfriend nearly headbutted the steering wheel when she had a go in my car and tried the brakes!

I scared the life out of the bloke at the dealership I bought the car from. Took it out for a test drive and started to slow down at a junction, and nearly sent him into the dash. He gripped the door handle for the remainder of the drive

You should try some Citroen with hydro-pneumatic system, like GS or CX. Ugh, brakes seems to have two positions - on and off.
