Default Replacing airbags

Good evening

I am soon to start the process of changing the airbags on my 308 (T9).

Drivers
Passenger
Seat belt tensioners

Do I change these all over and then swap out the ECU Airbag Module? (I have one which codes have been cleared).
Connect up battery and let it run through the checks.

Just querying the order which I should be doing things.

Many thank

Fit ALL the parts and if the system is happy thats it if not you will need to read any other faults and fix those but 1 thing you need to understand IF anything else is triggered that you are forgetting it will set a hard fault in your fresh ECU so you need to be sure everything else is ok

I replaced the seatbelt tensioners today, tomorrow I will start on removing the dash and then the driver airbag will be the last in.

Just out of curiosity, if I had swapped in the new module today, it would have read OK on the tensioners but an error would have thrown up on passenger and driver airbags, this would mean the Module being needed to be reprogrammed/cleared, correct?

Can you recommend a code reader?

Many thanks
Steve

Yes that is correct it would sense a fired airbag it may not set a hard fault but its not worth the risk ! some cars will.

I would refit all your fresh parts leave the old ecu in place and read it to see what it sees if its listing anything else fired thats not replaced then you will need to replace that too that way your not risking upsetting the clear ecu.

Bags wont refire as once ecu has fired them its unable to do it again hence the reason they need cleared.

Planet, diagbox is best for accurate results any decent computer will read it though but handhelds are pants on peugeots.

Many thanks, makes sense.

Looking on ebay there are a few sellers advertising the kits.

Is there any major difference in the 2 below:

or

You will find no mater what you buy it will have the latest software that works they all sell you the same stuff some say it wont work with 307s C5 etc but that was from years ago there were problems they all just spout the same rubbish even though its no longer an issue !!

As for the versions im on an old version of both planet and diagbox no need for latest versions unless your working on brand new stuff

Software changed in 2012 on the CAR so you MAY need to install the most up to date software for it to work we had trouble connecting to a 2015 partner recently due to this issue
