Default radio inference

hi this fault has just came when I turn on the rear screen demister the radio suddenly gets a load of static inference as I said only just happened nothing has changed with the car no mods or improvements
308 diesel hdi 2009 model
any idea's from anybody

Bad earth on the aerial perhaps?

I will check the earth but I really don't see why it would develop a bad earth all of a sudden

Hi, in a lot of modern cars, the radio aerial is part of the rear screen and looks like one of the heating strands, so a faulty earth to the aerial or rear screen heater will give all sorts of problems. I don't have any particular knowledge of the 308, but it is worth a look at what sort of aerial your car has.

If it is the aerial, it could be loose from repeated car washings or similar, or just worked loose from rough roads and water has sneaked in the gap. Its hard to say and is just guesswork from our position.
