Default Problem with 16" rims & BlueHDi 2.0 150HP

Hi,

Last week I had to swap all 8 wheels due to mismatch between brakes and rims. The BlueHDi 150HP need larger brakes, so the Topaze rim will not "fit". The problem is the clearance between the calipers and the rim, and the result is deep scratches in the rim , for all front wheels, due to small gravel stuck between rim and calipers.

Due to this problem, my garage had to upgrade my rims to 17" Rubis. Got the first 4 rims last Friday, waiting for the last 4 but don't need them for another 5 months.

Has anybody else experience anything like this?

Yes.

On my winter tires (16") there is only a couple of mm of space between the calipers and rims. if on some point in the future a balance weight had to be placed there it will be a problem. :-(

For summer tires I got the 18". No problem there. :-)

Here are a picture of my old rims, where you can see the glue from the weights...

The stripes you see are from gravel stuck between calipers and rim...

Yes, it's tight.
16" is an absolute minimum on these cars.

My dealer told me, that for Norway the 150 hp can't be delivered with 16" anymore.
So they obviously have discovered the problem...
