Default Peugeot 308 1.6THP (2009) ECU Fault Code P0016

I have just had a Peugeot Planet 2000 diagnostic check run on my 308 and it has brought back the above result - synchronisation fault between the camshaft and crankshaft.

Has anybody experienced this problem and if so, maybe provide the name of a good mechanic who can solve this?

I had this after changing my clutch and forgot to plug in the crank sensor.

Could be a faulty cam or crank sensor, faulty wiring, plug disconnected or timing out.

Thanks very much for the info. Hopefully I will now be able to narrow down what exactly is causing the problem.

Infamous timing chain stretch can also cause this issue is engine noisy when cold
