Question "Passengerís front airbag activated" warning lamp often appears

I have a Peugeot 308 (1.6l, diesel, semi-automatic, 2012).

About 1 in 5 times that I get into the car with my partner, the "Passengerís front airbag activated" warning lamp shows ('H' in the attached image).

It appears if I stop the car and we both open then close our doors, the light goes out.

Any ideas?

Passenger front airbag DE activated is what that means so car thinks you have manually deactivated it with the keyswitch or whatever method your car uses try switching the deactivation switch on and off a few times it may just be a bad connection due to lack of use

Actually, I think I initially may have misunderstood what "Passenger’s front airbag activated" meant.

It now makes more sense that it means it's activated, as in, good for go for passengers (obviously not good for baby seats) and does not mean activated, as in, been used.

So, can someone help me confirm:

When an adult is in the passenger seat and the ignition is turned on:
  • "Passenger’s front airbag deactivated warning lamp" ("G") should come on for roughly two seconds before turning off (like an initialization check)
  • "Passenger’s front airbag activated warning lamp" ("H") should come on for roughly two seconds to inform that it's ON and ready to be used in case of a crash
Is that right?

Yes you may well be correct im just going by how older cars work but yours will be later version with a light for each seat and it will check if the seat is occupied before deciding what it wants to do.
