Default No turbo vacuum - 1.6 hdi 90

No turbo vacuum running to actuator - 1.6 hdi 90

As title.
Turbo not engaging at any point and it's become a nightmare up hills
Actuator not moving was first sign so put a silicone hose on it and did a basic test to see if it moved and held air and it held so realised that's ok. Pipe to the actuator is not getting any air going through it so i thought is the electrovalve dead on it. Replaced and blew through pipe to actuator to ensure its not blocked. Both made no difference so what next in terms of finding why there is no boost?
It is letting off smoke from that area on a high rev so carbon build up is not helping so makes me wonder if the cat is blocked in some way?

Doesn't help soon as you hit 3.2k revs it bounces back as if it's misfiring each time but i wouldn't know where to look so yeah, any help would be smashing. Thanks.

oh and fyi, no fault codes via diagbox.

Have you checked if the vacuum pump is making good vacuum? [i.e. around 500mm Hg] If it is, you will have an issue somewhere in the piping to the turbo solenoid actuating valve.

I've found the vacuum pump is pushing air through but it's not getting to the electovalve so it's either an issue with the vacuum pipe down to it or there is what I believe to be a one way valve on the same line, wondering if that is causing a problem if it's failed.

Vacuum pumps dont push air, they suck. And the vacuum needed to work the actuator is high. So you need to test your pump with a gauge to see if it is providing the minimum of around 500mm Hg first.

Haven't got hold of a gauge tester yet but interestingly from checking pipes i've found something odd as i've highlighted in picture below, any explanation? Disconnected to electro valve hoping to feel something flowing through with it connected to pump and nothing can be felt

Also my brakes feel fine which doesn't really add up if there's an issue pump to hose?

that nipple on the left is the vacuum pump. you need a pipe between the pump and that nipple on the vacuum line

actually the vacuum line you have. im sure that plastic nipple should go to the turbo.

the connector for the vaccum pump is a massive clip type connector. take the fuel filter out see if someone has trapped it

Fixed it after months. The pipe going from the vacuum pump to servo replaced and turbo running full swing. Pressure tested it before hand and found pump was fine but next to nothing travelling through. Couldnt understand why brakes were fine but I'm just delighted it's running again!
