Default Intermittent ticking sound 308 sport 1.6 16v

Hi all had a few years away from the Peugeot family and went to a Volvo t5. Selling that and getting something a bit more kinder to the wallet. Looked at a Peugeot 308 1.6 16v 2008 sport model. Ive done a search and not found anything.

Now I started the car and it ran ok no know knocks or chain slap but I noticed now and again a ticking sound that lasted for about 10 seconds then stop. I know these engines tick anyway but this was above the rest of the engine noise. Not sure this is normal. Engine ran smoothly and responsive.

Might be buying the car tomorrow so any help would be ideal.

Also anything I should check before I buy

Chimpland.

Check the central locking works I'm sure it will with new fob batteries.

The ticking I've no idea, can't say I noticed it. Not sure mine does..

Is the noise definitely coming from the engine? If it sounds louder when you listen under the RHF wing it could be the evaporative fuel canister being activated. This is part of the emission control system. Mine makes quite a ticking noise when it's going.
