Unhappy Indicator Stalk Comms Unit 308 Sport 1.6

Hiya Guys n Gals,
So have investigated Indicator Stalk by removing shroud around comms unit! not much can be done without removal of comm unit which appears only possible via removal of steering wheel.

So now problems multiplying, removal of steering wheel is going to involve work related to air bag in the centre? Is this possible without specialist equipment, i.e. disarming the air bag for remedial work to be carried out?

Has anyone done or attempted this type of repair before & possibly share the information they gained or advise a suitable remedy.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Before working on any part of the airbag system, you MUST put the BSI to sleep and disconnect the battery, After that, airbag system should be safe to work on.
Just work carefully with airbags [after all, they are explosive devices], no hitting with hammer to remove/replace etc and you should be good to go...

Hi Will Thanx for that,

You will have to forgive my ignorance as new to Peugeot Vehicles understand disconnecting Battery/power supply, but what is the BSI unit & how do you enter it into sleep mode?

Cheers Buddy
