Default Fit a new radio control stalk

Hi all. New here and have recently acquired a 2009 308.

I need to fit a new radio control stalk. Is this a fairly simple operation and can it be done by removing the steering wheel column cover (surely the operation doesn't necessitate removing the steering wheel!)?

I ask because I tried to removing the column cover; unscrewing the 2 T20 screws underneath but couldn't get the cover to budge. Does it just need unclipping/ is there a knack to getting it off and is the replacement of the stalk a simple operation?

Many thanks in advance.

I replaced the radio stalk on a 307 so it should be the same on an 09 308. Remove both parts of the cowling (for better access). There is a locking peg that needs to be pushed in to allow the stalk to be withdrawn. This is at the back of the comm unit. A small mirror makes finding the hole through which you depress the peg so much easier. Use a small (preferably blunt) flat bladed screwdriver to push in the peg.

Hey Many thanks for that. I was also having problems removing the cowling. I removed the 2 T20 screws but the cowling wouldn't give way, I didn't want to force it and I couldn't see any other screws. I presume the cowling is clipped together. Is there a knack to removing it? I don't want to shove a screwdriver into the gap and use it as a lever.
