Question Engine Warning Light, Fuel Filter

Hi all,

New to the Forums and new to Peugeot. 10 Months ago I bought a new 308eHDI 110bhp. Loved the car until today. On the way home from work I got a beep and a warning saying Engine Fault and the ESP disabled itself. While driving I got no power above 50mph.

After letting the car stand the power appears to be back and ESp is back on again but the engine warning light is still on. With the car being less than a year old and only done 13,000 miles I took it back to the dealership.

They have run a diagnostic on the car and it showed the fuel filter was at fault. They said this was normal and because I used Tesco diesel, they also want 120 to replace the fuel filter

To me a 10 month old car with only 13,000 mile on it should not have this kind of problem let alone pay 120 for the repair. So can anyone advise me if this is normal for Peugeot cars and how easy is it to do the job myself and where can I get a Fuel filter from.

Thanks in advance

was this dealer price ?

120 to change fuel filter is a f*king joke you could buy a original for about 30.00 say and change it ya self

if i work that out they are charging you 80.00 for changing that

also has this been serviced since you have had it

Yes the car had it's first full service about 1 month ago at the dealership and yes 120 to change the filter is the dealership price.

Thanks for the info, interesting read on the other thread. I live near Durham so not far from the other reports of the same issue. I have gone back to the garage I usually use and they have quoted me 40 for the part and fitting so getting it done on Monday.

I will write to Peugeot tonight to complain. Thanks for all the help.

Don't forget to mention that it's been mentioned twice on the webs most popular pug forum and the negative publicity it will give them!
