Question Engine turned off fan still running

When I turn the engine off the fan continues to run for minutes after. I have a new battery fitted and an auto electrician has been out and reset the electrics. It ran ok for a week and then same problem has come back? Any advise please.

The fan runs because something is saying the engine is still hot. Is the engine hot?

It could be trying to regen if its diesel if turned off mid regen it will run to cool things down

If petrol coolant sensor could be culprit water ingress issue well known

Best to give ALL info regarding car for accurate answers.

Also happened to me a couple of times in my 308SW and a 3008 both diesel...no problems, probably filter regen.

Most of the times the engine is not hot.
