Default Choosing 1.6HDi engine

Hello,
I'm going to buy a second-hand Peugeot 308 and right now I have 2 options:
1). December 2010, 1.6hdi 112 hp, 6 gears
or
2). July 2012, 1.6hdi 92 hp, 5 gears

Can you please give me an advice which engine and gearbox should I choose?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Regards!

I would advise you to choose a petrol engine, because the probability of problems will be less.

Thabk you for your answer.
Yes, I know that the diesel engines are more specific and expensive to maintain. But at the moment there are two good offers with these HDi engines. So my question was - is one of these two engines more reliable than the other?
I need to compare these two engines and not diesel vs petrol 🙂

No difference except turbo

The 6 speed will be nicer round town and feel better on the motorway

The 5 speed will probably be a little better of fuel but more underpowered

It should all be down to condition mileage service history etc.

The 112 engine will definitely have a dual mass flywheel, known to be problematic. Not sure if the 92 does or not. I think both will have the exhaust particle filter, so a small amount of maintenance might be required there.
I had a 2010 SW HDi 90 and never worried about any lack of power, but it depends on what you want or expect.
My 90 had a turbo, probably not the same one as the 112. But the 112 would have an intercooler.

Thank you for the info.
I will check out both cars and see if everything else is OK.
