Default Air filter housing not bolted on to top of my engine? (pics inside)

Hello all! i was doing some checks on my car today when i realized my air filter housing is not bolted on to the engine any looks like its missing something to connect it back

Could this have any effect on the car? and should i look to find a way to connect the two back together?

Any tips and help greatly appreciated

You may have to right click and copy image location and paste as im new to all this and i do apologize

Looks like the boss has broken on the top of the cam cover. It should be ok as its held at the back by a couple of pegs
