Default 308 temperature gauge moving

Hi, my 2008 308 has developed a strange issue with the temp gauge. It's mostly solidily in the centre, but recently has started to dip down to the 70/80 marker and then rise back up, all in a 30 second time frame, ie, I can watch it do it. Car runs fine, no warnings in the log. But it's unnerving seeing the temp gauge move about like this. Any suggestions? Temperature sensor issue? Thanks

i currently have this issue on my 207 THP. im thinking probably thermostat stuck open slightly allowing excessive cooling when on the road

if the sensor was bad, it would probably short and cause the 'temperature too high' error to occur

Thanks for your reply, I'll speak to my garage about it.
