Default 308 subwoofer install starts tomorrow!

So after deciding against trying to remove the touchscreen due to fear of damage We have looked at viable options to connect the vibe low pass line converter.... 1. Was to try hunting down the cables in the mass of connectors in the internal fuse box... This resulted in finding the front left speaker is attached to a different connector to the other three, the other three are on the same connector as the airbags so have decided this is a last option to start messing in there.

So, we have gone with option 2, this is to take the rear door cards off, pick up the left and right speaker feeds there, piggy backing and running to the boot, we will install the line converter there in the boot taking the 12v power from the 12v cigarette supply on the parcel shelf. (The vibe converter is power intelligent so doesn't need a remote feed)

We have also decided on a design to hold the amp without having to screw into the rear seat (as done 'back in the day')
(Difficult to explain but will try) This is having a piece of mdf shaped to the rear of the single fold down seat, having a notch that allows the seat to move back into its locked position but also holds the mdf in place, we will then add a vertical support on the opposite side, this will then be carpeted and then the amp fixed to it.

Hopefully this goes without a hitch but I'm sure will fight us every step of the way.

Will take pictures along the way and will give detailed update once completed!

Wish us luck!!

The system has time alignment and electronic crossover provided by Arkamys. The signals are different for each of the speakers.

Guessed it would have crossover, low pass line converter should still get its signal from the rear speakers I believe.

Do you think different?

I was wondering if you could possibly provide us some information / photos on how you achieved this?

Where you got the amp audio signal from? Rear speakers?

How you got the power cable to the boot, and how you earthed it?

White panel pulls off door pillar, leaves these two screws.

Take that off to show:

Use fish to pull speaker cable through grommet into door

Then take speaker out but make sure you cable tie to speaker cable to prevent catching with door glass

Run speaker cable from door pillar along side of rear footwell to boot

So have you unplugged the rear speakers completely?

I am wondering if it is possible to grab an audio signal from the door pillar if I was to leave the rear speakers in?

How easy was it to get a power cable to the boot?

The speaker wire changes from pillar to door so piggy backed at connection point to ensure sound connection. The rear speakers (replaced) are still very much connected!

I havnt taken pictures of power cable yet due to torrential rain and storm when it was half way fitted but will do!
