Default 308 ECU Security Code

I am a total newbie here and apologies if there is a tread somewhere, (however I did not find any ).

I have a 2007 model 308 which was imported from the UK to Malta. Unfortunately it came over with only one Ignition key.

I am currently trying to make a spare key however I am having some trouble with this since I did not have the Security code neither . The shop which is specialised in car keys here, requested the original security code. We got the security code however we are still not able to access it. It is giving us an error “wrong security code”.

We are thinking that the Car ECU was changed over time and thus the security code changed with it..

Just recently (This week) I purchased the PP2000 for it.. will the software be able to retrieve this security code by any chance? And if so can anyone generally point to which option on the software.

Thanks

I can't say I've seen it anywhere. When you come to code a key with Planet it asks for that security code.

Hmmm, I guess it must be in there somewhere. I wonder if the Galletto tool can pull out that information, or if its encrypted.

If you have planet check vin number if ecu/bsi changed vin will be different and you can get code for new vin. If not flash dump from bsi is needed to get security code. Or can locksmith not clone existing key

Hi windy...locksmith reported that the vin number was not being reported on his computer in actual fact that is why we concluded that the ecu should have been changed.... I think that the retreival /flash is the only option I have.
Cloning is an option it seems however (according to the locksmith) I will lose the remote opening / closing of the car.

Thanks for the replies

Hi bettyswollocks...

We requested the codes in actual fact but they are still not working... that would have been easy...

An update on my security code saga....

After getting my PP2000 I tried to set the key myself with my available code I got from the shop. Still the program gave me an error code that the security code did not match the one on the ECU.

I bought another security code via internet...Still no joy... it gave me the same error.

I took the car to a mechanic here in order to read the EEPROM. We bought another security code again this time from Pug Malta.. Yet again.. No Joy....same error. The mechanic (ex citroen) assured me that the BSI is the original..still had seals all on .

So he tried to EEPROM it....guess what...an upgraded chip this time..he could not..

Next step...I have to find someone that can read this BSI...

Thus I have three different sec codes...original BSI .... but still no spare key

Don't know about the 308 but a lot of Peugeot if you change the bsi pp2000 while show the new vin number which will be different to the car one you need to go with the one displayed in pp2000
