Default 308 cylinder numbers

On a Pug 308 petrol engine 1600 VTI, which cylinder is #4?

Guy at the factors said the one closest to the cam chain/belt- is this correct?

Cheers,

John

Cylinder 1 is usually the gearbox end so pretty sure the info given to you is correct

Thanks storeman.

However on youtube there is a guy getting a fault on #1 and he does the coil on the cambelt/chain end which obviously conflicts.

Anyone else?

Thanks Jagan,

So you're saying cylinder #4 is the gearbox end and cylinder #1 is the camchain end?

Any one else?

Engine is the Prince 1600 16v petrol as also used in Minis.

Cheers,

John
