Thumbs down 308 1.6 Sport 2008 niggles

Hiya Guys n Gals,
Any one had issues with the Indicator stalk on their pugs?

We have intermittent fault when signalling right only works when its in the mood! very annoying.

Secondly as this is our first pug I find the car appears very low geared as were up the box very quickly? drives ok in fifth when cruising, just doesn't seem right in lower gears? car is shod with 225/45 17" Tyres so not wrong size wheels. Is this an inherent feature with the 308 as the only other thing i'm thinking is maybe wrong gearbox fitted in the past?

Any thoughts/ comments greatly appreciated.

Intermittent indicator fault sounds like the Comms unit behind the steering wheel, where the stalks are attached.
As for the gearing I'm not sure about that, sorry.

Thumbs up

Thanx for that,
Will have a look at first opportunity, I did wander if the stalk itself was at fault & if its a common problem on pugs across the range?

It is quite a common cause of intermittent indicators on Peugeot.
Can be one side or both, sometimes wiggling/moving the stalk just right can make them work.

Unhappy Indicator Stalk Comms Unit 308 Sport 1.6

Hiya Guys n Gals,
So have investigated Indicator Stalk by removing shroud around comms unit! not much can be done without removal of comm unit which appears only possible via removal of steering wheel.

So now problems multiplying, removal of steering wheel is going to involve work related to air bag in the centre? Is this possible without specialist equipment, i.e. disarming the air bag for remedial work to be carried out?

Has anyone done or attempted this type of repair before & possibly share the information they gained or advise a suitable remedy.

Any advice greatly appreciated.
