Default 308 1.4 petrol losing oil

I need to top up oil every couple of months approx 1/3 ltr. Engine has done 35000 on a 59 plate, car drives fine, no clutch slippage and no sign of a leak. Has had a service using 5/30 fully syn oil.

No sign of gunk in oil filler, looks very clean.

Any ideas? is this engine prone to oil usage? I believe that is the correct oil any people using slightly thicker or is that a bad idea?

cheers

As far as I'm aware that would be the Prince engine also fitted to minis. This engine is known to use oil.
