2008 308 Automatic Transmission clunk
Ive got a 2008 308 with 110000km on the clock.
Last week I was accelerating and my automatic transmission appeared to slip back a gear / or into neutral and made a really loud clunk. It didn't sound good, i was doing about 60km/h and accelerating. An error message appeared on the digital screen saying "Gearbox Faulty" and then went away. About 5min later while going very slowly through a carpark it did it again, horrible sound and the whole car shakes. I've driven it all week since and hasn't done it again. Any ideas what could be happening? Also I don't know much about auto transmissions but are they something you need to get serviced regularly?
