Default [0014] Exhaust camshaft dephasing fault - Coherence

Hello,

I have a 2009, 308 S, 1.4 petrol, 5-door hatchback with around 105700Kms on the clock. Today the check engine light came on, took it to my local garage and the diagnostic came back with:
[0014] Exhaust camshaft dephasing fault - Coherence

I couldn't find much online about this other than this.

My mechanic is investigating and getting advice from the local Peugeot head mechanic. I thought I would ask here too in case anyone has any good suggestions or knows what this is.

Might be worth mentioning a bit of history, I bought the car about 15 months ago with 92700Kms. At 98000Kms I had to replace the inlet camshaft sensor, at 99600Kms the check engine light came on and the error code said it was the catalyst converter. At 105750Kms replaced the catalyst converter (just two days ago).

The car is driving perfectly fine, I don't feel or notice any problems.

Thanks in advance!

Hi. Thanks for the link. I have done that same search on the forum myself and went through all the threads but couldn't find anything that explained what the code means, what it could be or how to fix. Most of the threads that mention this code also mention power loss and other weird symptoms, I have no symptoms.
My mechanic is looking into it and getting advice from the local Peugeot dealer but I'm hoping to get extra expert advice here too.

My mechanic said the it was a sensor that had to be replaced. But a few days after I posted here the light management light went off. Very strange.

Then like 2 weeks after it came on again. It was on for about a week then it went off again. Now it's off.

Is this normal?

Hi. Thanks for your reply. Could you elaborate a bit more please? What's the can train and how much does it cost when it goes? Prince engine?

Thanks!
