Default Transmission fluid in passenger footwell??? 307

I have a 307 2003 auto
Recently noticed a wetness on carpet in passenger side
Lifted carpet and found brownish red fluid sort of oily and has a sweet taste. Someone may have spilled something and not told me but I'm thinking Transmission Fluid

Any ideas??
Cheers
Paul

Check the transmission oil cooler. Its is the only place where coolant and transmission oil can potentially mix.
It should be obvious in the cooling system reservoir.

Thanks Guys.
It was in fact Coolant...
WHere the Pipe joins the Heater core there was a leak. Obviously under pressure Its been a profuse leak.. Even a bolt missing. seems someone has been playing with this before. Unlike peugeot to make access so easy though.
Cheers Again
