Default Rough Idle/ no air con/ outside temp ind

Ok, going to put my hands up here. P/307SW 2002 2.0i. Air con failed, manual and auto, checked Freon, a bit low so recharged it and all ok. Got in it 2 hours later- no air con, out of frustration I tried to short out the LP switch, whatever I have done the car now idles 800-1100, seems to drive ok but I have obviously done something sounds as though its struggling for fuel . Also before air con failed my inside temp indicator for the outside has dropped to -11 as I live in the Gulf it is not its about +18, is it an easy sensor to change, Feel a fool for trying to short switch.

What is the LP switch ?

Maybe a BSI reset would bring things back to normal.

My aircon wouldn't work as the clutch on the ac pump wouldn't engage. Try lifting the bonnet and get someone to switch on the aircon manually while you listen for the clutch engaging on the pump.

It is the air con switch on the low side, this normally controls the compressor clutch, which is not energised even though I have charged the air con and it was running with rig fitted ! I am an engineer but peugeot is totally new to me. I obviously have to get a manual and some for of diagnostic tool, not a clue on that one ?????. Does the sensor that feeds the outside air temp ind in have any other functions and where is it ??? Thanks for help
