Default please help hdi pipes

hi all this morning i have been tinkering under the bonnet and managed to brake a small like vacum pipe on a valve that sits in front of the starter motor..
theres two of these valve like things next to each other in front of the starter motor...

what are they....please help..

2002 hdi 90.....

sounds like your EGR valve solenoid can you post a picture up?

i know what they look like ive changed a few of them lol just wanted to make sure it was the pipe the person was talking about,
