Default Peugeot 307 engine making a high pitched sound. Please help

Hello all,

My peugeot 307 makes a high pitched squeal when I accelerate when the vehicle is stationary or change from
First to second gear. I am not sure whether this is normal for a Peugeot 307 1.6 petrol.

Is this normal for a Peugeot 307 engine or could there be a proble?

I looked at the engine and realized that when I accelerated the engine shakes- is this normal?

I have recently also noticed that when I change from
First to second gear something shakes underneath my car.

Any comments would be much appreciated

Thanks

Hi there, i Wouldnt worry about engine shaking too much, ive noticed it on quite a few TU engines, sometimes when idling i can feel the engine shuddering..
If you engine is rocking quite badly and you can hear loud knocking sounds as it moves, i would get it checked out, theres a possibility of worn engine mountings..

If your engine was fixed solid in the engine bay, you would feel every movement it makes so it needs a little movement to breathe.
