Default Noob question - fitting tailored mats

Hi all.

Excuse this question which I am fairly certain is really simple to answer and I am just missing it. I purchased some tailored mats for my 307cc, but I can't get the clips to secure them.

OK, so there are two metal threads sticking up from the floor, and the two clips that were screwed over them won't in any way fit the mats. My mats have these holes/clips on them:

and the clips that were screwed onto the floor look like this:

Unless I'm missing something these do not fit the mats. Halp? Has the previous owner replaced the floor clips with the wrong ones?

Many thanks.

That, or you can probably undo the grommets (looks like top and bottom parts are just screwed together) on the mats and pass the current nuts through the 'raw' holes of the mats.
