Default New owner with couple of issues

Hi everyone newbie here
Recently acquired a peugeot 307 rapier 1.6 2003 model and I have two issues with it currently.

1. Horn does not work at all, ive read on here for some people it works intermittently and for some when locking the car twice the horn beeps but I have none of this. Checked the fuse and it is correct and not blown out

2. I have found a cable under the bonnet which is not connected to anything and is just lying there by the drivers side headlight.
I have attached been unable to post pics due to low post count but have got some.

Could the two issues be related by anychance?

Thank you in advance
Sohail

For your second issue, I have exactly the same lead on my car. There's just a connector which doesn't seem to attach to anything.

It's supposed to be like that. When the car was built, they just put a loom in with extra connectors which are meant for other components on other models of car.

For issue 1 the common defect on the horn is a bad earth on the steering wheel which causes a lot of intermittent issues.
This doesn't sound to be your problem.
If you have access to Peugeot planet you can test the horn but if not have you tried putting a multimeter on the wiring to the horn? And checking the fuse?
Another problem can be the cable to the horn but again wouldn't cause the door lock horn to stop (locking whilst locked, there's no beep for the first lock.

If you've checked the horn unit works and the wiring to it is sound, yes.

Eventually the horn stops completely and it's a quick fix and the most common issue.
Does your horn sound if you lock with the Remote with the car already locked?

Not all 307s do. Only one of the four I've owned did this.
