Default How to know what "toys" I have

Just starting really getting into the grubby bits with my 307 and after having a read through the "tips and tricks" thread, I've noticed my car doesn't do anything.

Without the use of PP, is there anything I can do to see if I have any toys?

The car in question in a 2002 Rapier model, I'm assuming this is the complete bog standard model? (I know 106/ 206/ 306 models, 307 is a little foreign to me).

In regards to PP, I have a Galleto 1260 ECU reader, with the tool provided, is there a possibility that I can get some software similar to that of PP?

Hi there

The Rapier wont probably have alot of the fancy options like mentioned in the thread you describe. If I am right the model is one of the entry ranges with the option of Air Con.

Furthermore as it is a 2002 pre facelift model on VAN electrical system they did not have the newer BSI software in the CAN facelift models such as automatic locking when travelling.

The models with alot of equipment both optional and standard are mainly the SE & XSI with the exception of a few special editions during that pre 2005 era.

In regards to PP2000, your universal tool will not work. You will probably be able to use the universal tool to read faults (if you have the right connector), but Peugeot Planet or Diagbox (the dealers tool specifically for Peugeot/Citroen) needs the Lexia Diagbox interface for these dealer tools to work.

One of the cheapest I have seen;

Lexia 3 Diagbox 6.01 Citroen & Peugeot Diagnostic Interface + 30 pin cable | eBay

Hope that helps

planet is not just software you need the cables and interface for it to work

Some open source style universal diagnostics launch etc have parts of planet installed but they cannot do everything planet can do

A rapier is quite a low spec model but things like cruise can be added easily with planet

Thanks guys.
Guess I'll have to either buy a planet or find someone local.
When I plug the planet in, will it list all my possible add ons? I'm sure I read in one of the threads that your bsi will list things as "on/ off", this true?

Cracking.

After a quick look, doesn't seem to be another planet owner in my area, so guess I can buy one for use in the area.

Fingers crossed I can get cruise control, would love that.

You will be able to retro fit cruise control and add the RT3 sat nav if you wanted.

Both tutorials are on this site

Well Cruise control will definitely be on the cards.

I might be able to fit in auto wipers, can rob the rain sensor and wiring from my 306.

The toys Im looking at in particular are actually really simple things:
- Auto locking (where the doors lock after you start moving 5mph+)
- Auto windows up when locking
- Folding mirrors (I know Ill need the mirrors with the motors in, but I can always wire into the central locking)

If my BSi isnt able to do those, would I be able to take one from say an XSi/ higher spec model from the same age and then add on toys as I go along?
