Default Handbrake on light!

Hiya, i posted on here not so long about about my car being jumpy and cutting out. Anyway i got that sorted and it passed the mot on thursday just gone. Went to go off in it today and the abs light came on and the handbrake light kept flashing on when the car was still saying handbrake on! Once i set off the handbrake light went but the abs light stayed on and the brakes felt abit strange for abit. Took it for a drive round the industrial estate and the brakes worked fine as i slammed them on a few times. I got my boyfriends dad to have a look at the car and when the ignition was on while i was letting it warm up abit before i actually started it, it started making this noise, almost like a motor constantly whining. Im so confused and pretty irritaited about it all. I haven't been able to use the car for almost 3 weeks and im stuck with a bill and a car which isnt sorted out! Any ideas? Thanks

Would have thought it's one of the abs sensors that's failed or needs cleaning. Have heard of abs sensor failure causing the power steering pump to run fast constantly.

I think handbrake light is activated by ABS sensor so again maybe a faulty ABS sensor.
