Default Grey plug behind footwell cover?

I just found a grey plug not plugged in behind the cover down in the footwell.
Does anyone know where this needs to be plugged in or is it used for something else?

Well, the only thing that doesn't work is the AC unit but I highly doubt it has something do to with that plug.
Still curious what it's being used for.
