Default Front doors not unlocking with remote.

99% of the time the front doors will not unlock with remote.
They will lock/unlock fine with the button on the dash.
I`ve done the BSI `reset` - no joy.
I think i can hear/feel `something` clicking in the door lock area when using the remote but they just don`t open.

If i lock/unlock/inside door handles/outside locks/using remote/generally fanny about they will work a couple of times then go back to not unlocking.

Any ideas?

Have you tried a new battery in the remote?

OK, i tried a new battery but no joy.
I`d be surprised if that worked as the car is seeing the signal from the remote as it`s unlocking the rear doors........

Could it be that the lock mechanism is sticking due to dirt build-up or maybe something (probably a plastic component) being worn out?

Is it worth taking the lock mech. out and having a look?

That doesn`t explain why both front doors are not unlocking though as the drivers door gets much more use than the passenger side?

The locks are deffo getting some signal though as i can hear/feel a response behind the handle area when it tries to unlock...

I have a similar problem. My drivers door doesn't unlock with the remote, most of the time. It always locks ok though.

If the locks work from the dash button, the problem is unlikely to be in the locks. It would seem that the BSI is not controlling the front doors correctly from the remote input. As the rear doors work from the remote (sorry, I missed that in my first post), logically you are left with a fault in the BSI.

You could try cleaning the relevant plugs and sockets of the BSI with switch cleaning fluid, before repairing or changing the BSI.
