Default Faulty Engine ECU

One day my 307 wouldn't start, called the AA, they couldn't do anything as the car had gone into 'Economy Mode'

They tow me to a local Pug specialist, who tell me that i need a new engine ECU. They had the car for 3 weeks but couldn't find a compatible ECU. They have now towed it back to my house until they can source a part.

52 Plate - 2.0l HSi - Petrol

Apparently there are many more Diesels, and the petrol versions are much rarer?

Where is the best place to get a replacement ECU?

yeah, i've seen both of them. Don't the ECU numbers have to be spot on?

you cant just use another ECU with the same number as it needs to be linked with the BSI,

you need to find a ECU and BSI with keys from a car of the same year and model, you only need the key remote not the key blade as you can use your own blade as this means you don't have to change locks ect.

Also remember to get the VIN of the donor car and keep it written down safely

If the donor car has higher miles than yours, then that's what will be displayed on dash
