Default Engine sensor?

We have a 2001 307 hdi with a green sensor on the engine, which now has diesel coming out of it. We are not sure what this sensor does and would like some help in identifying it, and some advice on how we go about getting a replacement part.

The sensor is green and connects on top of the engine?

The sensor cable is part of the main engine loom?

We think the cable coming out and connects into the main fuse box under the hood?

Question. Can you buy just the sensor and cable or do we need the complete loom.

Can we still drive the car with the faulty sensor connected, we do not have any warning on the dash, so we think it's working OK.

I will try and upload some pictures so you can see what our problem it.

The engine size is 2.0hdi 90, does this make a difference to the type of sensor we need?

Thanks for your reply Trustme

Green sensor is most likely the fuel temperature sensor and to replace it you need to replace the pipework with it.

Thanks for this info reliable406, when you say "pipe work" do you mean the cable and has it got a part number?

If its what I think it is its a pipe not a cable

A pic of the part would be best.

I have uploaded some pic's at... https://www.peugeotforums.com/forums/...ne-sensor-417/

The sensor is connected to some wires which are part of the main engine loom, there are some other sensors which are part of the loom as well and also connect to the engine.
