Default Can someone have a quick look on their car for me...

1.4 HDI 307 51 plate

I'm getting air in the clear diesel pipe. If i leave the car for say 30 mins then squeeze the bellows a few times, i can see air bubbles passing through. Not massive ones, but a few go past. Further squeezing seems to cure it. But leaving the car stand for a while and i can see the bubbles again.

Is this normal - can someone check for me

The diagnostic is giving error codes relating to the diesel pressures not being right. I've cleaned the tank filter and i can't see any obvious leeks under the air box etc

This is normal.

I quizzed a garage about these bubbles as I also thought that there was a leak somewhere. There wasn't - the bloke explained that its something to do with the unused fuel going back into the tank.

The motor has now been running smooth for 20k (which astonishes me) and there are still air bubbles visible in the fuel line.

It's a diesel thing.

My bro's old 140,000 mile S reg 306 does the same. Runs like a dream though.
